SETRA GEAR as carries out repairs, overhauls, reconstruction, modernization and modification of gearboxes of all types and sizes. Repaired, refurbished, reconstructed, modernized and modified transmissions are provided with standard warranties as well as warranty and post-warranty service. It is a matter of course that chief fitters (supervisors) and technicians participate in the commissioning of the transmission or drive (supervision). We carry out gearbox repairs based on the customer's specification, or according to our own inspection findings with a proposal for the extent of the repair.

Standard procedure for repairs, overhauls and reconstructions of gearboxes:

  • disassembly of the gearbox

  • inspection, revision, control of the gearbox

  • analysis of detected damages

  • drawing up a control finding

  • sending the inspection finding with a price offer to the customer

  • sandblasting of the gearbox body

  • primer of the gearbox body

  • cabinet repair

  • production of parts needed for repair either according to drawings or by re-measurement of parts (re-engineering), or delivery of original spare parts

  • repair by replacing defective and damaged parts, possibly affected parts, rolling bearings and sealing elements

  • setting the conversions to the control color and defining the prescribed clearances

  • determination of rolling bearing clearances

  • assembly of the gearbox and its sealing

  • testing the gearbox at rated speed without load

  • top coat RAL 5015 (Himmelblau, Sky blue, Sky blue) or other according to the customer's wishes

  • preservation

  • issuance of a report on assembly and tests

  • shipping and storage or assembly of the gearbox at the customer's place

  • setting the gearbox in position

  • commissioning in the presence of our chief fitter (supervisor)

Modernization:

Our specialty is designing new transmissions with higher performance parameters while maintaining the original installation and connection dimensions (into the existing gearbox body) where possible.​

  • dimensional and strength calculations of gearboxes according to ČSN, DIN, ISO, AGMA standards

  • replacement of existing components
